Material experiments with pulp from the kenaf plant, a fast growing, highly sustainable relative to hemp. In the 1960s, the USDA chose Kenaf out of 500 plants surveyed as better alternatives to tree-based paper pulp, however the infrastructure was never built to move us away from the deforestation and chemical processing used to make tree-based paper.
