What we like about ExpandOS: A unique, paper void fill option that’s ideal for protecting heavy items in shipping. Really clever and interesting design. (Note: The high cost of ExpandOS can limit use of to high-value and/or high volume products.)
Chipboard Expandos
Made from SFI certified (often recycled) fibers.

These paperboard pyramids feel like standard kraft board. They settle in a box and fit together around a product to protect it from damage in shipping.

These are a recyclable alternative to plastic film bags and bubble wrap. ExpandOS ship flat on a pallet to your facility, and they have an Expander machine which assembles and dispenses the ExpandOS. Since they ship flat to your warehouse, they require less space (and emissions) in the first leg of shipping.
While we prefer the more restrictive requirements of FSC (the Forest Stewardship Council), ExpandOS SFI (Sustainable Forestry Initiative) is good to see.

The best afterlife for most paper products — from collateral to boxes — is recycling. Most paper fibers can be recycled more than five times. Paper with tape or stickers can still be recycled, because non-paper materials are sifted out in the recycling process.

ExpandOS can be customized with printing. Printed designs will take on the finish of the paper. For a shiny finish, you’ll need to inquire about added coatings. Coatings may also be necessary if your packaging needs extra water resistance.
