Tetra Pak

🏭 Switzerland

What we like about Tetra Pak: Recyclable cartons made with paperboard from FSC certified forests. Plant-based caps and laminations available in European factories.

Paper Cartons (Aseptic)

  • Carton packaging is commonly used for shelf stable liquids like broth, soup, and non-dairy milk. The cartons are sturdy, with an interior and exterior coating to make them food safe. They can open with a lid or they can be engineered to open by unfolding the top, similar to how you’d open a paper milk carton.

  • Cartons are notoriously difficult to recycle because the amount of plastic coating layered onto the paper makes it difficult to sort out the paper fibers in recycling. But, Tetra Pak’s cartons are recyclable.

  • Tetra Pak cartons should be recycled with paper products. They’re made from virgin fibers, so it’s even more important to ensure that these go into the recycling stream so they can be made into new products again and again.

  • The exterior of these paper cartons is usually made from a glossy paper, so the colors of your design will appear more vibrant than they would on matte paper.

Customers might think this is made solely of plastic or that it’s not recyclable, so make the recycling messaging clear and easy to find.
