What we like about JBM Packaging: Glassine is a unique paper that feels coated and has the attributes of coated paper, but it’s entirely made from pulp. Glassine pouches are one of JBM’s specialties.
Glassine Paper Pouches and Bags
Fully recyclable, food safe, and grease resistant. Made from FSC certified paper. These bags are self-sealing and come in a variety of sizes.

Glassine has the look and feel of wax paper, without the wax. It’s translucent, and slick to the touch. While it may feel like this is an added coating, the fibers in glassine paper have a sheen due to the supercalendering process which breaks down the paper fibers, making the paper more dense.

Glassine paper is paper, so it’s made from plants and it’s free of fossil fuels. Glassine is a lightweight, grease, and wax resistant alternative to wax paper or plastic.
Because it’s translucent and lightweight, it could be a viable replacement for inner poly bags used for apparel.
JBM is FSC Certified. The paper and forest industry created FSC certifications to set standards like stricter restrictions on clear cuts and pesticide use.

The best afterlife for most paper products — from collateral to boxes — is recycling. Most paper fibers can be recycled more than five times. Paper with tape or stickers can still be recycled, because non-paper materials are sifted out in the recycling process.

Recycling reminders are highly recommended for glassine. Because of it’s slick feeling, it’s important that consumers don’t think that glassine is coated in plastic or glass to inhibit it from being recycled.
Printed designs will take on the finish of the paper. Because glassine has a sheen, so will the design you print on it.
