Loop

Loop

🏭 US, Canada, UK, France, Japan, Australia

What we like about Loop: This closed loop reusable container system is an alternative to single-use packaging. Loop is a good solution for food, cosmetics, and household cleaners sold online and in-store.

Metal bottles and jars

Refillable aluminum and steel packaging in an array of form factors.

  • Metal bottles with custom printing and closures available.

  • The most common metals used for packaging are steel, tin, and aluminum.

    • Metals are a nonrenewable resource, but the upside is that they can be recycled endlessly.

    • Metal can be more lightweight than glass, which reduces transit emissions. Plus it's not breakable.

    • It also has the water resistant properties of plastic.

  • Loop’s model depends on return and reuse, either through in-store take back or mail-in collection.

If disposed, aluminum should be recycled. Metals are endlessly recyclable without degradation in quality. Many metals are widely accepted for curbside recycling.

  • Limited form factors, but custom printing and labels are available.

Plastic bottles and jars

Designed to be refilled and reused.

  • A classic plastic container, but the beauty lies in the system, baby.

  • Traditional plastic is derived from fossil fuels which are a non-renewable resource. In the US, plastic has a 5% chance of being recycled.

However in the case of refillable applications, these impacts are minimized with continued reuse.

  • Loop’s model depends on return and reuse, either through in-store takebacks or mail-in collection.

If the plastic isn’t returned or reused, it may be recycled with other plastic bottles and jars, but the US recycling rate for plastic is only around 5%.

  • Limited form factors, but custom printing and labels are available.
